My Background
and Expertise
I have been practicing massage therapy for years. I graduated at the top of my class at MPower Career Training. I have have a specialty certification in geriatric massage, as well as specialized training in many massage modalities, including: Swedish, Sports Recovery, Myofascial Release, Deep Tissue, Cupping, Hot Stones, and more!
Mindfulness and Massage
Controlled clinical research has proven therapeutic massage offers a wide range of benefits. Massage can improve chronic muscle pain, help reduce stress and tension, as well as improve circulation, alleviate breathing problems, lower blood pressure, reduce headaches, and improve general mobility, and overall wellbeing. Massage has incredible psychological benefits as well: reducing anxiety, and depression, encouraging relaxation, and improving sleep hygiene.

All these positives are boosted by the encouragement of Mindfulness. Connecting with your body while being focused on only the current moment, leaving behind all thoughts and distractions of the past and future can be an important tool to maximize the benefits of therapeutic massage.

Frequently Asked Questions
Communication is key in any therapeutic service. Informative, professional treatment is a top priority for me as a practitioner.
1. What is Mobile Massage?
Mobile massage means services brought to you! Taking therapeutic massage out of a clinical setting improves accessibility and relaxation. I bring my portable massage table and all supplies with me. All you will need to provide is an 8'x4' clear area. I can bring treatment to your home, work, hotel, or even a gym (with written permission).
2. Will I have to undress?
Therapeutic massage does not automatically require a specific level of undress. Some clients prefer partial clothing or undergarments, while others choose nudity with a cloth cover. The type of treatment can also inform clothing choices. For example, for sports recovery massage, one may prefer athletic attire due to the amount of movement and stretching involved. Whatever your comfort level, you will always have total privacy to undress to the degree you choose and clean sheets will be available to cover yourself on the table.
3. I am self conscious about my body, what should I do?
We all have parts of our body we're self-conscious about. Some clients might have some anxiety around:
-
Body hair
-
Body size/shape
-
Scars/ moles/ skin tags/ acne/ etc.
Please don't let this stop you from the enjoyment and relief of massage. I am concentrating on your muscles and helping you meet your session goals. I’m not paying any attention to body hair, weight, or anything else. As a licensed massage therapist, my main focus will always be your care and treatment, and I do so without any judgement or criticism. Remember that all bodies deserve relaxation and treatment!
4. Is it okay if I fall asleep, make sounds or pass gas?
Falling asleep during massage happens all the time! Often when our bodies are able to relax after periods of pain, stress, or lack of sleep, the natural reaction is to sleep. Don't worry about snoring, drooling, or having to be woken up at the end of the session. Let me know if the possibility of falling asleep makes you feel uncomfortable and I will be sure to gently rouse you as soon as I notice you are asleep. As for involuntary noises or passing gas, both are 100% normal and natural when your body is in state of relaxation.
5. Can I pause or stop a session?
A session can always pause for the needs of the client. The full relaxation and benefits of a massage can be diminished by trying to ignore mild discomforts like needing to use the restroom or blow your nose (sometimes lying face down can cause nasal congestion or drainage). Always speak up with your needs and comfort level if you feel like something is distracting from the treatment.
6. Can I ask for more or less pressure?
Yes please! I will check in with you during your massage to make sure the pressure is okay, but please speak up and ask if you'd like more or less pressure during your session. Massage doesn't have to be intense or cause discomfort to be effective and everyone experiences physical manipulations and pressure differently. Some clients with certain medical sensitivities do best with very gentle techniques, while those with hypo-sensitivity enjoy a deeper more intense pressure. All options can be effective and worthwhile.
7. Should I talk to the therapist during my massage?
It's your session - talk as little, or as much as you'd like. Some like to chat throughout the session, while others prefer as little talking as possible. As a general rule, once the massage session begins, I don’t speak unless I’m spoken to. You are in complete control of how much general conversation happens during a session.
8. What will end a session early?
I am a licensed and insured, professional massage therapist. The safety of my clients, as well as myself, is paramount in my work as a practitioner. Physical or spoken aggression or sexual advances will result in the immediate end to a session. I only offer the services listed on my services menu. Requesting inappropriate or illegal services will result in being blocked from future appointments. An unsafe environment, including biohazards, pests, or restricted passage to the session location may also result in a cancelation or rescheduling of the session. Refunds and credits will be subject to the discretion of the therapist in these instances.
